The R8 is a two-seater coupe created by Audi Sport GmbH, which develops, manufactures and sells Audi’s racing models and the ultimate sport-grade RS model, and the first generation made its world premiere in 2006. It was released in Japan in 2007.
In 2016, it was fully remodeled and evolved into the second generation. An open model spider has also appeared. It has been loved for 17 years, but production will end in 2023, and this will be the last R8. In the future, the successor model that has been converted to an EV is expected to be released after 2025.
The Japan Final Edition is a limited edition model based on the R8 Coupe V10 Performance 5.2FSI Quattro S Tronic, with a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 620 horsepower and 580 Nm. The transmission is a seven-speed S-tronic (7-speed DCT), mated to a quattro with four-wheel drive.
As a result, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds.
The horizontal body features carbon parts throughout, and in combination with the black Audi rings package that tightens the exterior, it symbolizes unparalleled performance.
The suspension is equipped with Audi Magnetic Ride, which controls the damping force of the dampers according to the driving conditions for a comfortable ride and excellent driving dynamics.
The body color is Ibis white matte, and the combination with the gloss red calipers of ceramic brakes creates the gorgeousness of Japan’s ancient red and white.
At the feet, it is equipped with Audi Sport 20-inch 5-evo-spoke alloy wheels with a matte bronze polished design that resembles gold, another theme color. In this way, the three colors of white, red, and gold, which are familiar with the tradition of Japan, are casually combined, making it a special and limited edition car exclusively for the Japan market.
Japan to release the final limited edition model, a special memorial plate will be prepared for users who have signed a contract with Audi Japan. This is through a program called VIN Art for European owners, which creates a unique image of the car by entering the chassis number, and creates a metal portrait frame engraved with the chassis number and becomes the owner of this model as the only memorial display plate in the world.
The vehicle price including consumption tax is 35,080,000 yen.
