Blancpain × Swatch collaboration watch “Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms” (60,500 yen each)
BLANCPAIN and SWATCH will release a collaborative watch on September 9. The price is 60,500 yen, and it is not a limited sale.
It is based on the iconic diver’s watch “FIFTY FATHOMS” released in 1953 by Blancpain, and the design source is deep sea. The lineup includes five types named after the five oceans, and the case back depicts the ocean and the sea slugs found there. It is also characterized by its colorfulness, and the colors were developed for this collaboration.
The case and bezel are made of patented bioceramic (two-thirds ceramic and one-third castor oil), and the NATO strap also recycles used fishing nets.
The movement uses a mechanical automatic “System 51 (SISTEM51)” and is water-resistant to 91 meters. In addition, the “Antarctic Ocean” model will have a liquid contact indicator at 6 o’clock. It confirms the water resistance, and the color of the sensor changes when moisture is detected.
BLANCPAIN AND SWATCH ARE BOTH SWISS WATCH BRANDS AND BELONG TO THE WORLD’S LARGEST WATCH COMPANY, THE SWATCH GROUP.
