On May 25, 2023, BMW Japan began accepting pre-sales for the limited initial production model “THE FIRST EDITION” of the new “5 Series”, which is scheduled to be officially announced in the third quarter of the same year. Delivery is scheduled for Q4 2023 or later.
200 gasoline cars and 100 electric vehicles sold
The First Edition is based on two grades: the 523i M Sport, which is equipped with a 2-liter inline 4 gasoline engine and a 48V mild hybrid system, and the i5 eDrive40 M Sport, an electric car. A total of 300 units will be sold, 200 units based on the former and 100 units based on the latter.
It comes in two body colors, “mineral white” and “black sapphire”, and in terms of interior, the 523i The First Edition is in black Alcantara/Veganza, and the i5 eDrive40 The First Edition is in BMW Individual’s extended Merino leather. In addition, glittering crystal decorations are adopted on the center console to create a sense of luxury.
