Upon entering the boutique, you will be greeted by a manual guilloché lathe, a symbol of Breguet craftsmanship. This guilloché lathe machine was built in the late 1800s and has undergone repairs by a specialist department at the Breguet headquarters and is still in good working order. The Breguet Manufacture boasts the largest guilloché division in the watch industry. For Breguet, perpetuating this art is essential. One of the old guilloché lathes that symbolizes this is installed in a Ginza boutique in Japan.
In addition, all the elements in the boutique, including materials such as American walnut and marble, have been carefully selected by the design team at the Swiss headquarters. Breguet’s signature elements are seamlessly integrated into the store, such as furniture designs reminiscent of the flute decoration of the case band, carpets reminiscent of guilloché décor, and delicate touches of Breguet blue that adorn the entire boutique. There is also a VIP lounge, which has a layout and furniture that allows visitors to enjoy communicating with the staff while slowly browsing the products.
To celebrate the reopening of the Breguet boutique Ginza on June 26, 1801, the anniversary of the granting of the patent for the tourbillon mechanism invented by the brand’s founder, Abraham-Louis Breguet.

Historical background of the “Marine” collection
Recognized as an outstanding scientist and engineer, Abraham-Louis Breguet was elected a member of the Longitude Committee by royal decree in 1814 and shared his fate with the French Navy. One of the tasks of this commission was to solve astronomical problems related to the determination of longitude at sea. A year later, King Louis XVIII conferred on Breguet the title of “Royal Navy Watchmaker”, one of the most prestigious titles of his time. And the fleet of many great maritime explorers, equipped with precision watches and longitude systems engraved with Breguet’s inscription, continued their voyages. This new timepiece pays two homages to the brand’s founder, through its strong connection to both nautical and astronomy.
