Cartier will release a Japan-only model of the Tank Française on Friday, March 15, 2024.
Since 1996, when the original model was first introduced, the “Tank Française” has inherited the timeless charm and French style of the Maison’s signature “Tank”. In January 2023, it underwent a bold renewal and a more modern update. And this year, which marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the first boutique in Japan, the company has unveiled a Japan limited edition model.

The minimalist, monochrome dial, which looks like a single sheet of embossed paper, is inspired by the culture of “respecting simplicity,” which is a tradition of Japan art. The silver indexes are arranged so that they blend in with the form of the dial, and the expression changes depending on the amount of light. The crown is moonstone, the hands are rhodium-coated silver, and the dial is opal-like, all in soft tones.
