“Tank Française” Japan limited edition model (SS, case size 32×27mm, quartz) ¥726,000
On Friday, March 15, Cartier will release a Japan limited edition model of the Tank Française.
The “Tank Française” was born in 1996 as a new model in the “Tank” collection, which is famous as Cartier’s iconic watches. Featuring a metal bracelet that is fully integrated with the case, the series was updated last year to a new classic with more modern strength. The watch, which is classic but full of free spirit, has been a masterpiece that has been very popular since its release.
The Japan limited edition model that debuted this time is to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the first boutique in Japan. Featuring a minimalist monochrome design that looks like a single sheet of embossed paper, the dial was inspired by Japan’s traditional culture of “respecting simplicity.” The silver indexes blend in with the shape of the dial and change their expression depending on the amount of light.
The crown is moonstone, the hands are rhodium-coated silverstone, the dial is opaline, and all the details are in soft grey tones. Purity and sophistication coexist in a unique design.
