Citizen Watch has announced a Star Wars limited edition model based on the watch “Thermosensor” from the “Citizen Collection Record Label”. The lineup includes four models: the R2-D2, C-3PO, X-wing Starfighter, and Millennium Falcon, with pre-orders starting May 4 and going on sale on June 15.
This Star Wars limited edition model will be based on the “Thermo Sensor” of the “Citizen Collection Record Label”, which has been reissued with the design, and will be released in limited quantities of four models: the popular droids “R2-D2” and “C-3PO”, the “X-wing Starfighter” fighter plane, and the “Millennium Falcon” spaceship. The back lid is engraved with each motif, and comes with a special box limited to Japan and a card printed with each character.
Reservations will begin on May 4, Star Wars Day, when fans around the world can celebrate Star Wars culture and enjoy the film.
■ “R2-D2” model (limited to 300 pieces)
The R2-D2 model is based on blue and white coloring, with an image of the R2-D2’s distinctive lens on the analog display in the upper left and a head silhouette in the upper right. The letters on the functional display of the dial are all unified in a futuristic typeface in the image of a droid.
■ “C-3PO” model (limited to 300 pieces)
The C-3PO model is based on the iconic gold livery with visible wiring on the fuselage on the analog display and a three-pronged emblem on the belly and the back of the head in the center. The outer circumference of the dial is embossed to frame the head of the “C-3PO”.
■ “X-wing Starfighter” model (limited to 200 pieces)
The “X-wing Starfighter” model uses a technique called weathering to reproduce the faint red lines and the atmosphere of the well-used aircraft. The analog display in the upper right is marked with a five-line marking called “RED5”, indicating that it is Luke Skywalker’s boarding aircraft.
■ “Millennium Falcon” model (limited to 200 pieces)
The “Millennium Falcon” model has a line drawing of the silhouette of the aircraft on the entire dial, with the analog display in the upper left representing the image of the aircraft projected on the control panel and the upper right representing the trajectory of the stars during the hyperdrive. The groove at the bottom of the case is colored light blue in the image of the luminescence of the engine nozzle.
The common specifications are crystal glass, case diameter of 33.4 mm, thickness of 9.7 mm, and battery life of about 2 years. The main functions are Cal.8989 / monthly difference ± 15 seconds, chronograph function (1/1000 second, 12-hour meter), alarm / thermometer.
The price is 44,000 yen each.
