Orient Star has a track record of making skeleton watches for many years, and there are famous machines such as Monbiju from the early 1990s. This tradition has led to the skeleton models in this contemporary collection, and I feel that the reason why we are able to work on such a unique skeleton watch is because of our advanced movement manufacturing technology.
The impression I got when I saw this watch at first glance was that it was “eye-catching”. The parts of the movement that can be seen on the surface are gray-based, but they are deeply chamfered to take advantage of the thick design, and they reflect light from any angle.

The design theme of this work is “the light of a star shining in deep space”, which is certainly like a swarm of stars twinkling in a galaxy. Moreover, due to the processing of the streaks, the color of the reflected light is very complex, and it emits various tones, like the glow of a rainbow or a star.
The hand-wound F8 calibre is thick and solid, and it seems to be highly durable. At 6 o’clock, you can also see a silicon gun truck with advanced MEMS processing technology.
The limited-edition model combines this skeleton dial with a blue-gradient outer ring and a black-plated bezel to express a deep universe view. The black bezel tightens the design and accentuates it at the same time.
Like the movement, the crisp blue hour and minute hands have been given a multifaceted shape and meticulous finish, reflecting the light with a sparkle of reflection. Both the hands and the dial have an outstanding presence, so in that sense, it is a place where business people have different tastes for daily use.
However, as a watch fan, I would like to welcome this over-the-top creation of a skeleton dial. The movement with its perlage finish and deep, three-dimensional chamfer is beautiful, and the three-dimensional shape like a building is really fun to look at. The finish of the movement is quite meticulous, but the price in the 300,000 yen range is a bit astounding.
