Andern is known as a pioneering brand that ignited the popularity of customized watches. The company features a system that allows you to custom order your favorite watches, including dials, hands, cases, bezels, and strapps, but another thing to pay attention to is the appeal of the design with an antique taste.
Based on the masterpieces of antique watches, including the Terra, which was inspired by military watches adopted by the Czech army in the 1940s, the model has gained support from watch lovers by adding originality through the use of colors and materials.
This time, we focused on the collaboration model between Ander and Nivada Grenchen, a long-established brand founded in Switzerland in 1926. Nibada was fascinated by Andan’s style and Andane’s history and heritage, and the project was realized by a combination of enthusiasm, and they plan to continue to release collaborative models in the future.
The first model chosen to commemorate was the “Depth Master” released by Nivada Grenchen in 1965. It is a unique model with water resistance to 100 bar (about 1000 m), which is an exceptional spec for a watch at that time, but in addition to the specs, the index influenced by Art Deco has become an icon that attracts watch lovers.
Because of its unique form, it is known as “Pac-Man” by antique watch lovers.
Inspired by the style of this transformative Arabic index, the dial features a pixel art design inspired by Japan’s world-class retro game Pac-Man. The hands, indexes, and dial surface, commonly known as the octopus hand, are redesigned with dots reminiscent of 80’s game screens, creating a playful style.
There is a risk that the base model will lose its goodness if you add a bold twist, but with the strong personality of the original, you don’t have to worry about this model. , Depth Master and Andern’s playfulness synergize to create a truly attractive model.
