General Motors Japan has launched the Chevrolet Corvette Red Flame Series. It will be a special model limited to Japan in two types that express the hot spirit inherited from the first Corvette. Let’s take a look at the new model of the Corvette, the pinnacle of American sports cars.
Edge-red engine cover that embodies the passion for driving
Since its debut in 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette has thrilled motor fans around the world for more than 70 years, and has continued its own evolution to become the pinnacle of American sports cars. The current Corvette, the eighth generation, was announced in the United States in July 2019 and is equipped with a mid-engine for the first time in Corvette history. For the Japan market, the Corvette brand’s first right-hand drive version was introduced. The 6.2-liter V8 engine, which produces 502 hp, achieved outstanding driving performance while being easy to handle in everyday driving, and was highly acclaimed.
The “Red Flame Series” is a limited edition model that embodies the passion for driving that resides at the heart of the Corvette, with an edge-red engine cover that colors the traditional V8 engine bright red.
The engine cover on the first C1 Corvette was painted in a characteristic blue color, so it was called the “Blue Flame”. The limited-edition model, which pays homage and respect to this, is equipped with the “Engine Appearance Package” as a special equipment that further emphasizes the presence of the V8 engine “LT2”. This is a special feature unique to the limited model, and you can enjoy the beautiful Red Flame engine. In the coupe, visible carbon fiber decorative panels surround the engine. On the other hand, the convertible is equipped with an engine bay panel with a clear window that allows you to catch a glimpse of the engine when the roof is opened and closed. It is also noteworthy that it will be installed for the first time in Japan.
