There are various theories about the origin of “Wako”, and it is said that it was named in hopes of the arrival of an era of peace. Inspired by that, the blue sky, which is also a symbol of peace, was expressed on the dial with the traditional Japanese color “Misorairo”. Misorairo is a respectful name for the sky, and it is a bright and clear blue like the autumn sky, and it calms your mind every time you look at it.
Another point is that the pattern of the scaly clouds, which is said to symbolize the arrival of autumn, is expressed in the clear blue sky of autumn. You can feel the refreshing blue sky of autumn three-dimensionally from the dial.
A design commemorating the 75th anniversary of Wako
The year 2022 will mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of Wako. The dial is also expressed with a casual design.
The GMT hands and the GMT 7 and 5 are pink gold, which is an image of the soft autumn sunlight, creating a beautiful contrast.
