Seiko has announced the GS9 Club Original Model, which can only be purchased by Japan members of the GS9 Club, the owners club of the Grand Seiko brand that continues to make continuous progress toward the highest level of watches. Sales of 150 bottles limited to Japan began on December 25.

Based on the hand-wound model “44GS” born in 1967, which is indispensable for talking about Grand Seiko, this model was created by publishing the product development process on the “GS9 Club” website under the title of “GS9 Club Original Model Production Project” and making the product design decided by votes of “GS9 Club” members.
In addition to the “G” and “S” of the brand logo, the delicate spiral dial is decorated with three types of geometric patterns: a unique “S” symbolizing Daini Seikosha (now Seiko Instruments Corporation), which developed Grand Seiko’s first 10-vibration high-beat model in 1968. In addition, the Arabic numeral “9” placed only on the index at 9 o’clock is the same typeface as the 9 in “GS9 Club”.
The hand-wound mechanical movement “Calibre 9S64” is a high-precision gem assembled by skilled craftsmen at Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, and has a power reserve of 72 hours. The back pig is engraved with the words “GS9 Club LIMITED EDITION”, which is a proof of the original GS9 Club model, and “1 OF 150”, which represents a limited quantity. The price is 814,000 yen.
