The year 2024 marks the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland. Carl F. Bucherer celebrated with the launch of the Japan Limited Edition “Heritage Bycompax Annual Japan”. Based on the popular 1950s Bucherer chronograph with a modern twist, the royal blue accent color is used as the accent color of the dial.
“Blue” is the symbolic color of the flag of the canton of Lucerne, where the company was founded, and it is a color that Carl F. Bucherer has been particular about in many models. Among them, royal blue evokes a sense of calmness, purity, and cleanliness even for Japan. It is also the color of the sea and sky seen on the voyages between the two countries, and is adopted as a symbol of friendship.
It features vintage details such as retro typeface numerals and hand designs, as well as two horizontal subdials, but it also has a sporty feel that can be used in a variety of scenes. In addition, it is equipped with a water resistance of 3 ATM, a big date display, and an annual calendar that operates by grasping the number of days in the month, making it perfectly equipped with the practicality necessary for modern people. The strap uses a quick-release system that makes it easy to swap out the steel bracelet and the included leather strap.
This model will be limited to 88 pieces in Japan and will go on sale at authorized retailers nationwide on Tuesday, March 19.
