Bicompax Classic Chronograph
German watch manufacturer Jin, a manufacturer of professional-use watches, is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 356 series becoming a regular, with a limited edition of 500 pieces of the Bicompax Classic Chronograph, the 356.FLIEGER. KLASSIK. JUB (356 Flieger Classic JUB) has been announced.
At the same time, as a regular product, 356.FLIEGER. KLASSIK.AS. E (356 Flieger Classic AS. E）、356.FLIEGER. KLASSIK. W (356 Flieger Classic W) was announced.
The new 356 Flieger Classic JUB is the first in the 356 series to feature an exquisite dial decoration.
At 6 o’clock on the dial, the letters “FLIEGER KLASSIK” are designed. To counter this, the Sinn logo of the applied style was placed at 12 o’clock.
Another thing worth mentioning is the unusual dial arrangement of the 365 series.
The two silver-matte counters are designed in bicompax and harmonize with the anthracite dial. To enhance visual perfection, the hour, minute and second hands are rhodium-plated and coated with luminescent paint.
The small seconds counter and chronograph 30-minute totalizer are eye-catching in their silky matte silver colour.
As a useful feature, the chronograph 30-minute totalizer allows you to quickly record short measurements. The scale on the main dial is scaled to measure 1/4 second.
High domed sapphire crystal
The high-domed crystal with non-reflective coating on both sides ensures clear vision even in harsh light. The caseback is also made of sapphire crystal, and the number engraved on the rotor makes it easy to tell that it is a limited edition model.
This special product is characterized by the value and quality of the material itself, in which the glass is carved from a solid crystal block about 5 mm thick.
The glass has five different radii of curvature and is carefully polished. The result is a classic look that will impress enthusiasts.
A look back at history
The new 356 Flieger Classic JUB is a good example of a unique story of this chronograph, especially among Jin’s mechanical watches. Like all models, this watch builds on the success of an entire generation of the 356 series.
Historically, the first model of the 356 Flieger was a watch made in 1996 specifically for the Japan market, limited to 300 pieces. It is a development of the 256 Pilot Chronograph in an elegant, slim version without a rotating bezel. At the time, the model featured a matte black dial with the “FLIEGER” engraving, a sand-matte stainless steel case and impact-resistant acrylic glass. The movement was also equipped with a Valjoux 7760 hand-wound movement.
Classical and elegant look
The watch was so successful in the Japan market that Gin decided to add it to its official collection.
And in December 1998, the time came. With its automatic movement, sandblasted case, acrylic glass and logo case back, the 356 Fliger was predictably well received.
The fact that it is still one of the most popular chronographs in the world shows how timeless it is. These first chronographs defined the standards that characterize the series to this day.

Nubuck boa leather strap
The anniversary model of the 356 Flieger Classic JUB comes with a strap in high-quality bore leather (wild boar) with a German lug width of 20 mm. The surface of the leather has a gentle velvety soft texture. Nubuck leather has a fine texture that stands out and creates a unique expression that changes. The unique look of the strap comes not only from the type of finish, but also from the leather surface specially manufactured for gin.
This boa leather can be recognized by the black fine dots called hair holes. Nubuck leather is known for its high durability, flexibility, and shape retention.
In addition, this bore leather is a regional strap from wild boars in Hesse, Germany, both in origin and in origin. The leather is tanned in Hesse and then manufactured in the final process in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The boar’s life in the wild gives each strap its own personality.
