Swiss luxury brand Chopard has unveiled a new model of the L.U.C Strike One timepiece, which is a testament to the expertise of the chiming mechanism from the L.U.C. Collection, which embodies the highest standards of Swiss watchmaking.

Featuring an unparalleled rich-toned sapphire crystal gong, the new L.U.C. Strike One features a 40mm diameter 18K ethical white gold case. With a push button integrated into the crown, the case is only 9.86mm thick and exudes an elegant atmosphere.
The grey-green solid gold dial features a snail finish on the edges and a hand-carved guilloché in the centre with a honeycomb pattern. At 1 o’clock, there is a hammer-shaped opening, and you can enjoy the mirror-finished steel hammer chiming in. On the outer perimeter, a minute track engraved in sapphire crystal is placed, and below it is a “monoblock sapphire gong” that makes “L.U.C Strike One” unique.
The hourly chime, in which the gong sounds only once, is activated 24 times a day only when the minute hand reaches the 12 o’clock position. The gong, carved out of a block of fire crystal, is integrated with the windshield that protects the dial without the use of any welding or screw glue, and this patented construction is the secret to its unparalleled sound.
The movement is equipped with the newly developed “L.U.C 96.32-L” calibre, which has been generously innovated. By incorporating a push button in the crown that activates the sonnery, it is possible to switch between “silent mode” and “hourly chime mode” the mode displayed in the small window at 12 o’clock. It also has a power reserve of 65 hours.
The belt is a combination of hand-sewn grey alligator leather and 18-carat ethical white gold pin buckles. It is limited to 25 pieces worldwide with a serial number, and the price is 9,757,000 yen.
