2022 is the first year of the Japan tourbillon!
The tourbillon, invented by Breguet more than two centuries ago, is a complex mechanism that eliminates the influence of gravity and aims for high precision. Tourbillon-equipped models have become a symbol of the highest level of technology since around 1990, when the mechanical type was revived.
The tourbillon, which was not commercialized by Japan manufacturers, appeared this year and is now the center of attention. Japan’s precision technology and sensibility, which are comparable to those of Switzerland, are opening up a new world unique to the tourbillon.

This year, Citizen Watches launched a new global art collection that combines Japan and Swiss watch aesthetics with Campanola in pursuit of the unique beauty of the sky. The first is “Heaven” and “Earth,” which uses a lacquered dial by traditional craftsman Tetsuo Gido to arrange a hand-wound flying tourbillon movement with a thin profile and a power reserve of about 90 hours from La Jeux Perret of Switzerland, a subsidiary of Citizen. Limited to 5 pieces each. White gold, case diameter 42 mm. 9.35 million yen each.
Designed and manufactured tourbillon movements dedicated to “heaven” and “earth” in Switzerland. The tourbillon carriage, which carries a bell-shaped symbol mark, makes one revolution in 60 seconds with the pointer that carries the second hand.
