Swiss hydromechanical luxury watch brand HYT, which celebrated its 12th anniversary, has unveiled a new “S1” collection to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland. Limited to Japan, only 8 pieces will be released.
The name “S1” is an acronym for “Sport” and is HYT’s first sports watch series. This model features an open-work dial and a titanium case that gives a mechanical yet powerful impression. The 45.3mm wide case gives a soft impression due to the satin finish. In addition, the miniature honeycomb structure of the flange and the Arabic numerals emphasize the sportiness. Time marks with black fluid and matches with the overall monochrome color scheme.
From the open dial, you can clearly see the movement, which is the engine part of the watch. The 501-CM calibre is finished at the level of fine horlogerie, with a mainspring that winds the titanium crown between 2 and 3 o’clock. This moves the central minute hand, the small seconds of the sub-dial between 9 and 10 o’clock, and the small hand of the power reserve indicator placed in line with the crown. A pair of bellows, located at 6 o’clock, are made of a special alloy, and the walls are only one-quarter the thickness of a human hair.

The belt is angled to provide a comfortable and stable fit when worn on the wrist. The belt uses a quick-release replacement system and comes with a light gray Velcro belt with a loop buckle and a black rubber strap with a pin buckle. All of them draw a flowing line with the case.
In addition to being water resistant to 50 meters, the minute hand is accented with white Super-LumiNova (phosphorescent paint) that ensures high visibility even in dark places. The satin finish creates a modern impression. The selling price is 13.09 million yen (preliminary price).
