On January 6, 2025, Mat Motorcycles Japan released a special limited edition model “MAT GT-SR BENNY’S. LTD×. × JAPAN” exclusively for Japan.
The first collaboration model for Japan
The Matte GT-SR Benny’s Limited × Japan is a special edition model based on the 250cc class air-cooled single-cylinder model “GT-SR 250”, and is the first Japan limited edition model by custom builder Benny Thomas.
Benny Thomas, a builder who is also one of the founders of Matt Motorcycles, features his inspirational “Benny Yellow Special” tank color, exclusive decals decorating the tank, and a sticker on the front top bracket.
Regarding the model, Matt Motorcycles CEO Will Rigg sent the following message.
“Matt Motorcycles doesn’t make bikes for everyone, but many of our fans in Japan understand our beliefs and design, and they love the way we sound and feel Japan.
The “Japan limited edition Benny Limited × Japan was heavily influenced by vintage dirt bikes, opting for the Benny Yellow Special, a yellow color that accentuates the shape of the tank while emphasizing the contrast with the rest of the tank. I really like the colors that are not in the regular matte lineup. We believe that this special model is even more special within the special brand of Matt and that it is a bike that will enrich your life. We hope that this limited-edition model will inspire many people and encourage them to develop an interest in mats.”

The price of the Matte GT-SR Benny’s Limited × Japan is 766,700 yen, the same as the base model. Only 20 units have been sold.
