Richemont Japan K.K. In April 2023, Montblanc launched the second edition of the Montblanc Meisterstück Around the World collection, based on the story of Jules Verne’s great adventure novel Around the World in 80 Days, in Montblanc boutiques worldwide or online.
The second installment follows the epic journey of the protagonist from Bombay to Yokohama.

Montblanc Meisterstück 80 Days Around the World
Celebrating the wonders of classic adventure novels that have captured the hearts of many generations, 80 Days Around the World returns with a special edition of the Meisterstück writing instrument collection and accessories. This best-selling novel tells the story of English gentleman Phileas Fogg and his loyal butler Jean Passepartout on an extraordinary journey around the world in just 80 days to win a fearless bet. These two adventurers race against time aboard steamboats, trains, and elephants to accomplish this epic challenge. Inspired by the spirit of travel and adventure, this second edition of the Montblanc Meisterstück 80-Day Around the World collection continues its journey from Bombay, where the first edition ended, to Yokohama.
The collection also includes a new limited edition of 811 pieces, which uses fine materials and advanced handcrafted craftsmanship to meticulously represent the collection’s key design elements.
The writing instruments, which represent the journey through India and China to reach Japan, include paisleys of India, five coins of emperors of the Qing dynasty of China, and the traditional wave pattern of the Japan, and are characterized by designs that evoke the culture of these countries. The cartouche embellished on the cap represents the great elephant kiuni that carried adventurers through the jungle. Other details include the number “80” on the top of the cap, which shows the entire journey from start to finish, and the number “25” behind the cap indicates the number of days it took to travel from Bombay to Yokohama.
Representing the card game that inspired this adventure, the clip is decorated with a diamond mark of a red lacquered playing card, and the butt shaft is engraved with a trump symbol of Mr. Fogg’s bet and a jewel-inspired pattern of Princess Auda, whom he fell in love with. The Burntwood effect in the Solitaire and Limited Editions represents Princess Auda rescued from a fire ritual by Mr. Fogg. The hot air balloon engraved on the nib celebrates Jules Verne and his first adventure novel, Five Weeks in a Balloon, while the “20/10” and “14/11” engraved next to it mark October 20, when Mr. Fogg left Bombay, and November 14, when he left Yokohama.

The vintage-finished Ag925 sterling silver cap features Indian, Chinese and Japan lucky patterns and a jungle cartouche solid Au750 gold-cast elephant. The patterned ebony wood body is embellished with an Au750 solid gold inlay inspired by five coins of the Qing Dynasty. The Ag925 sterling silver clip is embellished with a diamond mark on a red lacquered playing card, while the Au750 solid gold nib is engraved with a 1.5mm ruby-inspired jewelry design inspired by Princess Auda. The mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem is crowned on this writing instrument.
