BMW Japan will unveil the R18 100 Years, a limited edition model commemorating the 100th anniversary of the BMW Motorrad, for the Japan premiere at the Nagoya Motorcycle Show 2023 to be held at the Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi International Exhibition Center) from April 7 to 9.
BMW Motorrad celebrates its 100th anniversary this year by producing commemorative models based on the R nineT and R18. Each will be released in a limited edition of 1,923 units worldwide. The “R nineT 100 Years” made its Japan debut at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show 2023 (March 24-26), and the “R18 100 Years” will be unveiled in Japan at this year’s Nagoya Motorcycle Show.
The base model R18 is a cruiser model equipped with a 1801cc horizontally opposed twin-cylinder engine, which is the largest displacement of BMW Motorrad that produces a maximum output of 91ps and a maximum torque of 158Nm. The 100th anniversary model has a high-gloss croam finish with glossy black paint on the fuel tank, and is bordered with double white lines. THERE IS ALSO A PLAQUE THAT READS “100 YEARS BMW MOTORRAD”.
The front wheel cover and side cover are also painted black, and the front mudguard is bordered with a white double line. The seat is highly diamond embossed and finished in black and reddish brown. The Akrapovic rear silencer is specially designed with the BMW logo inside the tailpipes. In addition, adaptive turning lights, reverse aid, cruise control, grip heaters, etc. are standard equipment.
Pre-orders for the R18 100 Years began at JPY 2,764,000. Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2023.
At the BMW Motorrad booth at the Nagoya Motorcycle Show, various models will be on display, including the 100th anniversary limited edition R nineT 100 Years, the new M1000R, and the S1000RR, which celebrated a model change this year.
