Swiss luxury watch brand “LOUIS MOINET” has announced a special model “Japan Rocket” limited to Japan using rare materials. It will go on sale on December 1st.

The biggest feature of this work is the design of the Japanese flag, which is modeled using rocket parts and a meteorite on the moon. The red circle in the aluminum capsule at 3 o’clock is a lunar meteorite that fell into the Dhofar Desert in Oman after a journey of 400,000 km.
Underneath is a set of fairing parts for the H-IIB rocket, which was jointly developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and successfully completed nine missions from 2009 to 2020. The combination of a red moon meteorite and a white fairing part was a novel idea to design the Hinomaru.
Set in the center of the dial is the “Gibeon Meteorite” painted in midnight blue reminiscent of space, and features a mysterious pattern like a fine mesh called the Widmannstetten structure. This pattern, which is produced by the separation and crystallization of nickel from iron, has proven impossible to replicate on Earth, creating a unique expression.
The movement also features traditional décor in haute horlogerie, such as the Côtes de Genève, circular satin and circular grain finishes, and the sapphire crystal caseback allows you to admire the movement of the rotor.
The three-dimensional form of the case is named “Neo Case” and is an open-work specification with lugs hollowed out horizontally. The indexes were applied hour indexes with a glossy finish, and the center was colored white, giving it outstanding legibility due to the contrast with the dial.
The Louisiana alligator leather belt and crown, which can be enjoyed over time, are also decorated with Louis Monet’s symbol “Fleur de lis (coat of arms of the lily)”, proving that it is a unique timepiece that is typical of Louis Monet. The price is 3.85 million yen.
