Seiko Watch Corporation (President: Akio Naito, Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will release a special limited model commemorating the 55th anniversary of “44GS” from
“Seiko style” pursuing the essence of watches
“Seiko Style” is a design grammar that creates a brilliantly shining wristwatch that was devised to give the Grand Seiko a world-class appearance as a luxury wristwatch, which was born with the aim of achieving the highest level of precision. Established in “44GS”.
Underlying this is Japanese aesthetics. Based on the aesthetic sense peculiar to Japan, it is realized by the original design grammar that mainly uses a polished flat surface without distortion, and advanced craftsmanship such as “Zaratsu polishing” that polishes a smooth and beautiful surface.
≪Product Features≫ “Sakura Hidden”, a scene expressed by dialing
The dial of this work expresses the natural beauty peculiar to Japan called “Sakurakakushi”, which refers to the appearance of snow covering the blooming spring cherry blossoms. “Sakurakakushi” is a seasonal word used in the Tohoku region where “Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi”, which manufactures mechanical models of Grand Seiko, is located. Inspiration from the ephemeral and beautiful scenery of spring, where snow and cherry blossoms coexist, is reproduced with a delicate stamped pattern and a grayish pink color.
Along with the dignified appearance created by the powerful mirror case of 44GS, it is a beautiful model that complements the neat dial with the adoption of box glass that feels warmth, the well-balanced thin abbreviations newly developed according to the miniaturization of the case, and the hands. Equipped with a hand-wound “caliber 9S64”, it has a thinness of 11.6 mm and a diameter of 36.5 mm, which is the smallest diameter in the history of the modern 44GS, which makes it easy to fit on your wrist.
The engraving on the back lid, which is a proof of the limited model, is engraved with the LIMITED EDITION and the serial number to create a special feeling.
