Corniche is an up-and-coming watch brand founded in 2012 in Stockholm, Sweden. The company’s founders, Niklas Roja and Felix Winqvist, are watch enthusiasts and are inspired by the watches in their collections, and their signature model, the Heritage Chronograph, is inspired by the design of classic chronographs.

Heritage Chronograph Ciel Nocturne II.
This is the second model limited to Japan developed based on the popular model “Heritage Chronograph”. A one-counter chronograph, which has never been seen before in previous models, is specially adopted, and the beauty of the fantastic night sky is expressed with a black mother-of-pearl dial. Equipped with SEIKO’s mechanical quartz movement, Cal.VK64. The chronograph hands move smoothly like a mechanical one, and when you press the reset button, you can instantly return to the start, so you can enjoy the operation of a mechanical chronograph at an affordable price.

What I would like to pay attention to is the dial that uses MOP (mother-of-pearl). MOP is a collection of nacre from shells such as white butterfly shells, which produce pearls. This work uses black mother-of-pearl made from black butterfly shells, giving a calm impression in the dark and a mysterious glow in bright environments with a complex mixture of blue, purple, and green. Because it is derived from nature, the pattern is different for each individual, and each one has a unique pattern, which is also a big attraction.
It is also characterized by a one-counter chronograph, which was first used in the Corniche. It is a unique specification that can be seen in antique watches, but due to the large margins of the dial, the texture and color of the MOP are maximized in close-up. Without compromising the aesthetics of the MOP, you can enjoy the mechanical atmosphere that is the real pleasure of chronographs.
The case is 39 mm in diameter. With a thickness of 11.5 mm, it is a good size that fits comfortably on the wrist. In order to enhance the texture of the parts, the bezel, middle case, and back pig are molded separately. The plate on the side of the case engraved with the serial number stimulates the desire for ownership.
