Berluti has unveiled a capsule collection limited to Japan to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tujour tote bag. Sales will start at online boutiques and will be rolled out at boutiques nationwide from December 1st.
“Toujour” has been loved as a brand icon since its birth as a tote bag that can be used not only for business but also for any occasion. The biggest feature is the self-supporting structure with an envelope-shaped bottom that maintains an elegant silhouette. It is especially popular in Japan, and a capsule collection limited to Japan appeared on the 10th anniversary.
This time, a new work that incorporates the essence of “Toile Marbeuf”, which debuted in September this year, has appeared. Toile Marbeuf is a canvas travel line inspired by the oldest Berluti boutique in Paris. It features a graphical pattern that blends the interior of the boutique with the Maison’s iconic “Crit” motif. The capsule collection uses a new canvas material that reinterprets skrit and has a white color arrangement. In addition, the combination with the soft grain calf and matte silver metal parts brings out a new charm. The leather tab inside the bag is engraved with “LIMITED EDITION”, and there are three sizes: XS (389,400 yen), mini (408,100 yen), and XL (473,000 yen / all tax included). The XS can also be used as a crossbody thanks to its detachable straps.
To coincide with the release of this Japan-limited collection, a promotional visual featuring Tomoaki Makino, a former member of the Japan national soccer team and coach, and actress and model Rinu Takanashi has been released. You can also see the couple’s unique facial expressions, such as the two of them smiling at each other with bags in their hands.
