The Chronomat was developed in 1983 for the Italian Air Force Frecce Tricolori. At a time when quartz watches were flourishing, they became an icon of the revival of mechanical watches. Nearly 40 years later, the Chronomat has been reborn as a versatile watch that meets all requirements. And now, for the first time, the Chronomat B01 42 has a white mother-of-pearl dial. In addition, the bolder and more powerful Super Chronomat series introduces a rarer model with a red gold case. Both are special limited edition models that use white, which is perfect for the holiday season, and are only available in Japan.

The all-purpose sports watch for all your needs, the Chronomat B01 42
The Chronomat is a model that holds an important place in Breitling’s history. When it was released in 1984, ultra-thin quartz watches were at their peak. Breitling made a bold gamble with an extremely impressive mechanical watch. Based on the Frecce Tricolori chronograph, developed and unveiled in 1983 in collaboration with the famous Italian Air Force, Chronomat celebrates 100 years of Breitling’s style and brings the mechanical chronograph back to its original and important position in the brand. Thus, a worldwide reputation for this wonderful watch was established. The Chronomat has been remodeled again in 2020 and has evolved into a versatile watch that can be used for all occasions. The new Chronomat features an iconic 42mm case with non-curvading lugs and four rider tabs. In addition, the unique “Rouleau” bracelet stands out.
Chronomat B01 42 Japan Edition
The third Japan limited model based on the Chronomat B01 42 features a white mother-of-pearl. The mother-of-pearl dial is a detail that has always been very popular in Japan due to its unique beauty. The golden Breitling logo shines in an elegant livery that perfectly blends beautifully with a sparkling white that is perfect for the winter season and an anthracite sub-dial. Combining functionality with beauty, the timepiece is equipped with the Manufacture Calibre 01, a COSC certified chronometer that sets the highest standards for precision and reliability. You can peek through the sapphire crystal caseback to see its beautiful movement.

Super Chronomat B01 44 Japan Limited
Bolder and sportier, the Super Chronomat features a stainless steel bezel with ceramic inserts for the first time in the collection. In addition, the chronograph’s pushbuttons and crown are similarly made with ceramic inserts. The rubber strap inspired by the iconic Rouleau bracelet also features a distinctive look. This work uses 18K red gold in a 44mm case. The polished finish stands out in the delicate matte finish, and it is characterized by a restrained gorgeousness. The hands, indexes, and even the B of the logo on the dial are unified in the same color, and the black scale tightens the dial in a dignified manner like Breitling. The rotor of the Manufacture Calibre 01, which can be seen from the caseback, is also a special edition with gold. This work, where the timeless charm of gold meets the abrasion resistance of ceramic, is a model suitable for those who use special things lightly, like kintsugi white porcelain. This work is limited to only 25 pieces.
