In Greater China, the Year of the Snake begins on January 29 during the Lunar New Year. The Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac has traditionally symbolized prosperity, vitality, rebirth, wisdom, and introspection. In particular, 2025 will be the first time since 1965 that the Otomi will be the first Otomi, and it is said to bring a sense of mystery and a wealth of creativity.
To celebrate the Spring Festival, people wear red clothes and exchange gifts. New Year’s balls in Greater China are usually given in red envelopes called “hongbao”, but luxury brands are more elaborate and appealing to consumers.
Fashion brands have launched campaigns using carefully selected capsule products and short films. Loewe, Louis XIII, Creed and Montblanc have a number of exclusive Lunar New Year gifts for luxury-minded consumers.
