Swiss luxury watch brand RAYMOND WEIL will release the “Millésime Center Seconds Shermann Limited Edition” on Saturday, March 1st, which is limited to watch specialty store Shermann. Development of a Sherman limited edition model

Founded in 1971 as an antique shop, Sherman has developed masterpieces centered on antique watches and jewelry. Currently, we carefully select attractive watches based on our own criteria that can be used for a long time, have a good balance between quality and price, have individuality and can be attached to them, and give a glimpse of the intention (passion) of the creator. To commemorate the start of Raymond Weil at the Sherman Japan Bridge Mitsukoshi store and the Shinjuku Isetan Honkan store, we have jointly developed the first Japan limited edition model of the vintage-inspired Millésime with Sherman. It is a timeless special piece that watch lovers will love for a long time.

Elegant champagne gold × sector dial

The sector dial, which is synonymous with the Millésime, displays the hour, minute, and second scales on different tracks, and is champagne gold-colored, carefully selected from a large number of color samples. The hour index, which is displayed in Arabic numerals only at 12 o’clock and combines squares and bars at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, is a limited edition that is reminiscent of an antique watch but shines with the unique personality of the Millésime. The brand logo and hands, coloured with a subdued anthracite, perfectly match the vintage flavor of the champagne gold sector dial. In addition, the hour and minute hands are coated with luminescent paint Super LumiNova to moderately modernize them with a sharp form to maintain a “neo-vintage” balance.

From the center where the vertical streaks create a rich expression, the height increases toward the smooth-textured hour track, while the outermost minute track, which has a concentric pattern, slopes gently outward. It realizes a complex dial design that is three-dimensional and has a variety of finishes. The black circumference on the border between the centre and the hour track further accentuates the impression of the sector dial.

While inspired by the models of the past, when small-diameter cases (diameter 30mm~38mm) were the mainstream, we adopted a case with a diameter of 39.5mm, which is in line with the trend in watchmaking in recent years. Designed to be the best size that meets the requirements of 5 ATM water resistance (reinforced waterproof for daily life) and thin (thickness 9.25 mm) so that you can wear it safely and comfortably in your daily life.

The carefully chamfered bezel has the effect of making the case look thinner. The sides of the case lugs and the bezel are finished with a hairline finish, and the top of the lugs and the chamfered part of the bezel are polished, and the contrast created by using the two different finishes gives a three-dimensional effect. The long, vintage-inspired lugs have a rounded tip that is bent sharply toward the caseback to improve comfort.

Box-type sapphire crystal windshield

The vintage design windshield that looks like a cylindrical box covered with a plastic windshield of the past, reminiscent of the old plastic windshield, is reproduced with sapphire crystal. Using modern technology, sapphire crystal with high hardness is cut into a beautiful box shape.

The brown calf leather strap is soft and smooth to the touch and has a vintage-like texture. The edges (sides) are finished on a uniform and smooth surface without irregularities, and the beauty of the edges stands out. The tip of the sword is embroidered with a W-shaped stitch in the shape of Raymond Weil’s initials. Pin buckle specification that strengthens the classical impression.

It is equipped with the Cal. RW4200, which is based on the reliable automatic movement made by Cellita. From the see-through caseback, you can admire the movement of the W-shaped rotor in the shape of Raymond Weil’s initials. At 6 o’clock on the caseback, the “1 of 30” is engraved to prove the limited model.
