TO COMMEMORATE ITS 140TH ANNIVERSARY, SWISS LUXURY WATCH BRAND EDOX WILL RELEASE THE NEPTUNIAN 140TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION ON SATURDAY, JUNE 1ST. For the first time in the Neptunian collection, the left-hand version and the black-toned coloring evoke the darkness of the ultra-deep sea, bringing personality and sex appeal to every man who wears it, as well as expressing Edox’s pride and belief in the future of watchmaking.
Development history
Founded in 1884 in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, Edox has been pursuing the production of high-quality diver’s watches for more than 50 years and celebrates its 140th anniversary in 2024.
In order to develop an original model to commemorate this occasion, four parties, Edox, lifestyle media “FORZA STYLE”, Edox concept shops “Tomiya Chrono Factory Omotemachi Store” and “ISHIDA Shinjuku”, have come together. After about a year of trial and error, this product was born.
Concept & Limited Specifications
Based on the concept of “a diver’s watch that makes watch-loving men look the coolest,” the base model is the “Neptunian Automatic,” a professional diver’s watch that boasts a water resistance of 1,000 meters. This is a popular model that is actually used by Yutaka Fukuda, aka Rock Fukuda, who is active in the popular content “Rock Fukuda’s Watch Soul” of “FORZA STYLE” and is also a real user of Edox, and is especially enthusiastically supported by watch enthusiasts among Edox’s many collections.
Reflecting the requests of many Edox fans and watch enthusiasts to the concept shop, the collection is the first to use a non-date crown with a left hand and no date display. All parts of the dial, including the indexes and hands, are colored in black tones, which Yoshimasa Hiriba, the editor-in-chief of “FORZA STYLE,” loves, to express the darkness of the ultra-deep sea, where the sun’s rays do not reach. A diver’s watch in the shape of a sea god
The sturdy and robust case, screw-down crown and 3 mm thick sapphire crystal windshield ensure high water resistance of 100 bar / 1,000 metres. The caseback is engraved with Neptune, the god of the sea, embodying the brand concept of “THE WATER CHAMPION”. In addition, as a limited edition, “140TH ANNIVERSARY”, “LIMITED EDITION”, and “FORZA STYLE” are engraved.
Left Hand Non-Date
Left hand specification with crown at 9 o’clock. The watch is designed for left-handers, wearing the watch on the right arm, and at the same time, when worn on the left arm, the crown does not interfere with the wrist and provides a comfortable fit.
In addition, by eliminating the date display installed in the current model, you can enjoy the beauty of the symmetrical and black-toned dial.
Super-LumiNova Grade X1
Hands and indexes are coated with luminescent paint Super-LumiNova. Super-LumiNova has three ranks: Standard, Grade A, and Grade X1, and this model uses the highest rank, Grade X1. Compared to the standard, it boasts up to 1.6 times the amount of light emitted even after 2 hours, and is excellent in dark places such as at night and underwater.
Auto Helium Escape Valve
Equipped with an auto helium escape valve at 3 o’clock in the case. Helium gas that has entered the watch during saturation diving is automatically discharged, and plays a role in preventing the watch from rupturing due to the difference in pressure between inside and outside. It is a detail that allows you to visually enjoy the charm of a diver’s watch.
316L stainless steel
The case and bracelet are made of 316L stainless steel, which is rust-resistant and gentle on the skin, which is also used in medical instruments. It combines a hairline finish, which features an elongated streak pattern, with a mirror finish that gives a mirror-like luster.
Diving Bezel
Custom-made diving bezel for this product. The black bezel of the current model is slightly less glossy and has a matte finish. In the current model, a scale in 1-minute increments is displayed up to 60 minutes, but this product is a special specification that is in 5-minute increments after 15 minutes.
High-tech ceramic inserts on the surface. It has the same high hardness as sapphire, has excellent scratch and corrosion resistance, and maintains the aesthetics of the watch for a long time. Operability is improved by adding small bumps to the sides. In consideration of the risk of overestimating the remaining oxygen level due to incorrect operation during diving, it is designed to prevent unidirectional rotation.

The NATO strap was also customized by Mr. Fukuda for his “Neptunian” and was specially made in a black and silver color scheme that best matches the face of this product.
