Color ceramics and camouflage patterns create a unique presence
Hublot has unveiled the new Big Bang Unico Sky Blue Camo. This is a rare model that is sold only 100 pieces Japan.
It is based on the company’s signature Big Bang Unico. The new case material is bright sky blue ceramic, and the dial and strap are decorated with a camouflage pattern. Big Bang Unico has previously released models of green, all-black, and blue camos, and this is the next model to follow them. It can be said that it is one that embodies the brand’s concept of “art of fusion” (fusion of different materials and ideas).
Hublot is one of the brands that actively uses advanced materials. Nowadays, it is not uncommon for brands to use ceramics as case materials, but what makes Hublot stand out is the fact that it started using colored ceramics in 2019. In addition to the standard white and black, there are multiple shades of red, blue, green, etc. based on each. The fact that the number of types is increasing year by year gives a glimpse of the company’s enthusiasm for research and development.
Ceramics are hard and scratch-resistant, but they are also difficult to process. However, it should also be noted that in this work, satin finish and polished finish are effectively used to bring a three-dimensional effect. This highlights the distinctive case structure of the multi-component Big Bang Unico.
The Cal.HUB1280 in this film is Hublot’s own self-winding movement. The chronograph uses a flyback mechanism and boasts high specifications, such as a power reserve of about 72 hours.
Through the gap in the camouflage-patterned dial, you can admire the Cal.HUB1280 of the company’s own automatic movement mounted inside. Since it has a structure with a chronograph mechanism arranged on the dial side, it is possible to enjoy the movement of the column wheel and lever even when worn.
The camouflage pattern of the rubber strap was achieved using vulcanization technology, which the company first adopted in the watch industry in 2019. As a result, each color is clearly developed without blurring.
