A limited edition model of Grand Seiko Wako that began selling in 2002. This 40th model is a special model created with the theme of “the beauty of Wako” and returned to the origins.
The dial is an ivory color inspired by the Wako limited edition origin model
It adopts a graceful ivory color inspired by the Wako limited edition model released in 2005, which was first equipped with a spring drive movement.
The GS logo, deposition of the glass edge, and gold color are used as accent colors on the power reserve hand and second hand, creating a glamor unique to the limited model.
Equipped with Spring Drive Movement Caliber 9R65
The Spring Drive is Seiko’s unique movement that uses the power of the mainspring to unwind like a mechanical watch, but uses an IC and a quartz crystal to precisely control its accuracy, and features a swept hand movement that glides over the dial without sound.
The “Calibre 9R65” is a brand-exclusive movement that was first installed on Grand Seiko in 2004 with an automatic winding mechanism and a power reserve of 72 hours.
The three-dimensional row of intricately overlapping gear trains and receiving parts is reminiscent of the depth of the mountains of Shinshu, the birthplace of the Spring Drive, and the Hodaka mountain range and the Jonen Mountains are expressed from the power reserve train to the barrel.
