Platinum Fountain Pen Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo; President: Toshiya Nakata) launched the “Fuji Cloud Scenery Series” in 2023, inspired by the beautiful scenery created by the interplay between Mount Fuji and the clouds swimming around it, and expressing that image throughout the fountain pen using various decorative methods. This time, as the fourth (final) work, we are releasing a limited edition title, ‘Unkai’. As the finale of the series, the motif chosen is the magnificent sea of clouds surrounding Mount Fuji. Layers of clouds layer upon layer, quietly spreading out. Above that, Mount Fuji appears serenely. While changing expressions moment by moment, it imparts a deep sense of tranquility and awe to viewers, capturing the uniquely Japanese majestic natural scenery in a single fountain pen.

The cap and grip feature colors inspired by the quiet expression of Mount Fuji in the clear early mornings of autumn to winter, illuminated by the morning sun. On the barrel, the sea of clouds, often seen on mornings in that season, stretches out in layers and stretches endlessly, combining lens cuts with groove cutting to delicately and dynamically engrave the scene. Its expression, which changes impressions depending on how the light hits and the viewing angle, is like a sea of clouds swaying in the morning light.
