Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Japan Edition
This Japan-exclusive model, which was introduced in 2025, features the popular black mother-of-pearl dial. It emits a mysterious and deep sparkle, like a cloud in the night sky that rises faintly in the moonlight.
In 1952, Willie Breitling developed a chronograph with a rotating slide rule on his arm that allowed pilots to perform the calculations necessary for flight.
The model became the official timepiece of the International Association of Owners and Pilots (AOPA) and became a “navigation + timer”, or “navigation timer”. In 62, astronaut Scott Carpenter had a track record of carrying it into space, and it boasts a history of being used by celebrities such as Miles Davis and Serge Gainsbourg.
This Japan-only model, released in 2025, features a black mother-of-pearl dial. The nacre is collected from mother-of-pearl oysters, and the thinly sliced nacre is like clouds in the night sky that faintly rise in the moonlight, giving off a mysterious and deep sparkle.
The dial is unified by a single tone of black, and the gold-colored hands and indexes add a delicate shine, creating a chic and glamorous contrast.
The case is made of stainless steel and measures 43 mm in diameter and 13.69 mm in thickness. The movement is equipped with the in-house automatic calibre “Breitling 01”. In addition to the accuracy of a COSC-approved chronometer, it has a power reserve of about 70 hours, and its high functionality is unparalleled. You can appreciate the mechanical modeling from the back pig with a see-through back specification.
In addition to the stainless steel breath specification in the photo, this model has an alligator belt specification in the lineup.

The Japan limited edition model is a black mother-of-pearl mysterious dial – Breitling “Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Japan Edition”
Breitling has released the “Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43”, which is a limited edition model in Japan. Following the traditional design of the Navitimer, the lineup includes a stainless steel bracelet model (AB01381G1B1A1) and an alligator leather strap model (AB01381G1B1P1).
The dial uses the popular black mother-of-pearl. It has a texture unique to natural materials, and Breitling says, “Only this material can produce a mysterious and deep sparkle, like clouds in the night sky that float faintly in the moonlight.” The subdials are also unified in black, and the rotating slide rule, which can be said to be a symbol of the navigation timer, and the display with a lot of information are tightened.
A 30-minute counter is placed at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter is placed at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds is placed at 9 o’clock. The bezel is equipped with a rotating slide rule that rotates in both directions, and as mentioned above, these are the traditional layout of the Navitimer.
This “all-black” dial is paired with gold hands and indexes. Gold accounts for a small proportion of the entire phase, creating a delicate brilliance and an elegant contrast. While ensuring that it is easy to read as an instrument, it also impresses as a classic pilot’s watch.
The stainless steel bracelet model is sporty, and the alligator leather strap model has a classic feel. It can also be said that it has different characters depending on the strap.
The movement is equipped with the in-house automatic mechanical chronograph “Breitling Calibre 01”. Despite being a chronograph, it has a long power reserve of approximately 70 hours. The chronograph is equipped with a 1/4 second measurement, a 30-minute counter, and a 12-hour counter. It also meets the performance standards as a COSC-certified chronometer.
