Classical design reminiscent of the elegant world of aviation

The company’s founder, Willy Burke, considered story-making against the backdrop of the great “history of aviation” to be an important factor in embodying “German watches that pursue the essence.” In particular, he paid attention to the world view brought about by the rigid airship, now called the Zeppelin.

In 1900, the first rigid airship developed by Count Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin and others, commonly known as the “Zeppelin”, was completed. Since then, rigid airships have continued to evolve, such as increasing speed and size, and have achieved feats such as crossing the Atlantic Ocean and circumnavigating the world.

The parent company Pointec is based in Ismaning, a city outside Munich. The company’s manufacturing base is located in Leura, a city in Thuringia, which is said to be the “green heart of Germany.”

Built in 1929 in the Bauhaus style, the facility has been listed as a historic monument and has been part of the Pointec company since 2019. This facility was established in 1863 under the name “Thiel” as a factory of the former East German watchmaker “Uhrenwerke Ruhla”. Here, before the reunification of Germany, a large number of watches were produced by 10,000 employees.
