NOMOS Glashütte Tangente Neomatic Rose Gold launched
In the watch industry, where glamorous or sporty designs tend to gain popularity, NOMOS Glashütte has made a name for itself with its neat style. In recent years, the collection has been expanded to include a wide variety of variations, but the icon of NOMOS Glashütte is the simple Tangento, which was born in 1992. Composed of round cases and numerous right angles, the tangent inherits the spirit of the Bauhaus, a comprehensive educational institution for German art and architecture, and is characterized by a simple and rational design. In 2023, Tangento released a special “Tangente Neomatic Rose Gold” exclusively for Japan.
The Tangente Neomatic Rose Gold is dressed in a glamorous 18K rose gold case, yet you can feel the functional beauty of the Bauhaus philosophy.
NOMOS Glashütte “Tangente Neomatic Rose Gold”
Automatic winding (Cal. DUW 3001)。 27 stones. 21,600 vibrations per hour. Power reserve about 43 hours. 18KRG case (diameter 35mm, thickness 6.9mm). Water resistant to 3 ATM. 1,595,000 yen (tax included).
Classic & elegant style
The basic stainless steel case is the core of the lineup, but this one is made of 18K rose gold. This is the first time that Tangent’s case material has been made of 18K rose gold since the collection began. The case was newly made for this film. On the other hand, the silver-white dial and the classic blue-baked hands form the typical NOMOS Glashütte face. Also in the NOMOS Glashütte, the familiar flying Arabic numerals and bar indexes are displayed in brown and have a meek look.
Tangent’s current lineup ranges from case diameters of 32.8mm, 35mm, 37.5mm, 38.5mm, 40.5mm and 42mm. Under such circumstances, this work has a small diameter thin case diameter of 35 mm and a thickness of 6.9 mm, and an elegant sense of size like an authentic dress watch. It can be used as a dress watch regardless of gender, says NOMOS Glashütte herself. Combined with the strap made of Horween shell cordovan sewn back and sewn, it is said to be a size and style, and it is finished in a classic all the way.
The movement is the Cal.DUW 3001, a thin, high-performance self-winding movement made in-house. Automatic winding tends to have thickness because it has a rotor. But NOMOS Glashütte Cal. The DUW 3001 achieves extremely thin proportions with a movement thickness of 3.6 mm and a case thickness of 6.9 mm. By the way, the glowing “neomatik” logo on the dial indicates that it is equipped with an automatic movement made in-house.
Cal.DUW 3001 can be seen from the sapphire crystal back case. Following the traditional manufacturing method of Glashütte, Germany, where Cal. DUW 3001 was founded, the 3/4 plate, Glashütte finish, and blue-baked screws can be seen. On the outer circumference of the back cover Japan it is engraved with the serial number that it is a limited edition model. In addition, as a proof of the special model, a nomo rupe is attached.
The Tangente Neomatic Rose Gold is priced at 1,595,000 yen including tax, which is quite high-end among NOMOS Glashütte. Coupled with the small production of 20 bottles, it deserves to be called “special”.
