The MINI GP Inspired Edition released this time was limited to 3,000 units worldwide and 240 units in Japan in 2019, and is a limited edition model that expresses the fastest model in MINI history at the time, the “MINI John Cooper Works GP”, with the current model.
The lineup includes the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition (limited to 55 units nationwide) based on the MINI John Cooper Works and the MINI Cooper 5-Door S GP Inspired Edition (limited to 145 units nationwide) based on the MINI Cooper 5-Door S (limited to a total of 200 units in Japan).
Both models are equipped with a roof and mirror caps in chili red, which is the signature body color of John Cooper Works, and 18-inch JCW wrap spokes in two tones.
In addition, it is equipped with exclusive design parts designed, developed and manufactured by BMW Group Germany headquarters, as well as a number of MINI JCW accessories on the interior and exterior, expressing JCW’s sporty worldview.
The “MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition”, like the base model, has fearless and outstanding driving performance, and is characterized by a driving spirit full of racing spirit. The MINI Cooper 5-Door S GP Inspired Edition is equipped with a new generation of modular, high-efficiency 2.0-liter in-line 4-cylinder MINI twin-power turbo gasoline engine from the BMW Group, which produces a maximum output of 150kW/5000rpm and a maximum torque of 300Nm/1450-4500rpm, just like the base model MINI Cooper 5-Door S.
Combined with a 7-speed DCT transmission, it is operated directly by paddle shifting to achieve dynamic driving. It also offers high-level driving dynamics while also providing space for five passengers, making it suitable for family use.
Both models are equipped with state-of-the-art advanced safety features with enhanced precision and accuracy thanks to the high analysis capabilities of high-performance cameras, radars, and high-performance processors.
