Audemars Piguet announces 3 models limited to Japan & pre-release in Japan
This article is recommended for those who want to stay up to date with Audemars Piguet and are interested in unique timepieces. Knowing about the appeal of new models and the brand’s new initiatives will help you choose a watch.
Unveiling a new timepiece
In March 2026, Audemars Piguet announced three models from the “CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet” collection, one limited to Japan and one for pre-release in Japan. These new timepieces combine vibrant natural stones on the dial, seamlessly blending contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship.
Opening of a new manufacturing facility in Meylan, Switzerland
Audemars Piguet has opened a new manufacturing site in Meylan, Switzerland. In addition to the case and bracelet manufacturing department, the facility integrates a new technology development center to optimize production flows by combining expertise in each field. Completed after a three-year construction period, the new facility has nearly quadrupled the existing production area in Meilan.
The Allure of Natural Stone Dials
The natural stone dials used in the new timepieces require a high degree of skill in their production. The thinly and delicately cut stone is polished and then carefully secured to the plate of the dial without losing its tone and brilliance. Because it is a natural material, no dial has the same pattern.
Model details
The 41mm sodalite dial is a Japan-exclusive model and is paired with an 18K white gold case. The hour markers of the baguette-cut diamond and the hour and minute hands of the white gold harmonize with the white calcite stripes contained in the ore. The deep blue color is also used for the inner bezel and rubber strap, finished with an elegant two-tone design.
Meanwhile, the vibrant green malachite dial is paired with an 18-carat yellow gold case. Malachite symbolizes transformation and growth, with attractive swirling patterns that appear to be a deep green color. This model also features baguette-cut diamond hour markers and yellow gold hour and minute hands, as well as an inner bezel and rubber strap that matches the color of the dial.
The 38mm turquoise dial model is a special model that will be released in Japan in advance. The turquoise stone dial is beautifully harmonized with an 18K white gold case with a satin and polished finish, highlighting its visual strength and energy. It also comes with a turquoise alligator strap for a more sophisticated look.
Philosophy of the new manufacturing site
The new manufacturing site is based on four pillars: collaboration, flexibility, well-being, and optimized flow. It is designed to foster communication, creative synergy, and innovation, with numerous open spaces and areas for interaction.
Environmental Considerations
The new facility is designed with environmental considerations in mind and is in line with the standards in place at all Audemars Piguet locations. The historic U-shaped building has been awarded the Minergie Renovation Certification and the newly constructed complementary structure has been awarded the Minergie-P-Eco Certification, blending a heritage-based approach with projects that meet the highest technical requirements.
Conclusion
The opening of new models and production sites for Audemars Piguet is part of the brand’s commitment to combine innovation and tradition. This will open up increasingly attractive options for watch enthusiasts and collectors. I am very much looking forward to seeing what new challenges Audemars Piguet will continue to take on in the future.
