Breitling Japan has unveiled a limited-edition Avenger B01 Chronograph 44 Blue Impulse Japan Limited to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the return of the Air Self-Defense Force Blue Impulse to Matsushima Air Base. It is a mechanical watch and is priced at 1,221,000 yen. It is a model limited to Japan and sold in a sales volume of 111 pieces.
This is the seventh collaboration model between Breitling and Blue Impulse. This product commemorates the 10th anniversary of Blue Impulse’s return to Matsushima Air Base during the reconstruction of the Great East Japan Earthquake. As for the quantity, it is limited to Japan to 111 after the official unit name of Blue Impulse “11th Squadron”.
It features a blue dial inspired by the Blue Impulse T-4 aircraft. At 3 o’clock, the team’s emblem is displayed, and the T-4 is printed on the sapphire crystal back.
The watch is based on Breitling’s new Avenger B01 Chronograph. Designed for jet pilots, it features a specification that can withstand the harsh cockpit environment. The 60-minute bezel features four rider tabs, inheriting the iconic design of Breitling’s pilot’s watches. It features a new square button designed for smooth operation. The waterproof performance is enhanced to 300m water resistance.
The movement is mechanical and equipped with the automatic “Breitling 01” (B01). The accuracy is a COSC-certified chronometer. It has a power reserve of about 70 hours, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and 45 stones. The chronograph (stopwatch) is equipped with a 1/4 second, a 30-minute clock, and a 12-hour clock.
The case and bracelet are made of stainless steel. The windshield is a domed sapphire crystal with a double-sided non-reflective coating. The water resistance is 300m waterproof. The size is 44 mm in case diameter and 15.2 mm in thickness.
