KOKUYO’s “Campus” and LAMY’s “safari” are both historic brands that have been loved for over 40 years.
Bringing together the legacies cultivated by each as “things to write” and “things to be written”, it fuses functionality and design when using a fountain pen and a notebook at the same time. It is said that this collaboration was realized from the desire to further enhance the joy of owning and the enjoyment of writing.
“LAMY/Campus Soft Ring Notebook” is the first soft ring notebook to use “book paper” for the inner paper. The “book paper” is an original base paper from KOKUYO with a history of about 90 years. It is suitable for writing with a fountain pen because it has moderate smoothness, does not bleed easily, and does not bleed through.
The front cover features the “Campus” logo on the front and the “LAMY” logo on the back, giving it a special feeling unique to collaboration. There are three color variations: yellow, which symbolizes “LAMY safari”, and simple black and white. prepared.
LAMY Japan will also release a limited-edition “safari” fountain pen with a one-tone finish that even the clip is the same color as the barrel, and the “Campus” logo on the barrel.
Extra-thick “account book paper” with a firm texture is used for the inner paper
“Ledger paper” that is resistant to folding and wrinkles and has excellent long-term storage stability
In 1913 (Taisho 2), KOKUYO began manufacturing Western-style ledger books. He started the challenge of developing an original paper that would not get stuck even when written with the ultra-fine pen used for writing on account books at the time, and would not bleed or show through.
After that, it took nine years to develop, and around 1930, “book paper” was born. It is a special thick acid-free paper with a firm texture, and it is strong against folding and wrinkles, so it is excellent for long-term storage.
The surface is smooth, slightly dense, and tight, so it is hard to get unevenness due to writing pressure, and it achieves a high-quality writing feel as a high-quality writing paper. It was adopted as the inner paper of “LAMY/Campus Soft Ring Notebook” because it is compatible with fountain pens.
Layout of the “Campus” and “LAMY” logos on the cover and inside paper
The front side has the “Campus” logo, and the back side has a playful design with the Campus notebook layout and the logo replaced with “LAMY”. The inside paper also lays out the “LAMY/Campus” logo near the ring. The ruled lines on the inner paper are a good guide when writing letters, and the dot grid ruled lines are used so that they do not get in the way when drawing sketches and illustrations.
