Rumors have surfaced that the Air Force 1 Low “Ueno Sakura”, which appeared as a Japan limited edition model in 2005 from Nike, will be reissued in 2024.
Air Force 1 Low “Ueno Sakura” is a sneaker invented by mita sneakers in Ueno, Tokyo in 2005 and designed by SNEAKERWOLF, an artist active in Japan and overseas. This model, which has a pale beige upper and laser processed cherry blossoms, was sold to the general public in March of the same year with only 500 pairs and sold out in an instant. Combined with the unique design of the Japan and the rarity of being produced in very small numbers, it is still the coveted object of collectors around the world.
Rumors that one of such legendary pairs will be reprinted in 2024 have been stirring on social media in the past few days. However, according to Brendan Dunne, general manager of Sole Collector and Complex, the source of the rumor, @dontchargeabdul, testified that the samples had already been destroyed and the reprint project was canceled. Is there really no reprint of “Ueno Sakura”? Let’s wait for more news in the future.
For people saying the Ueno Air Force 1 is coming back. That pair is a scrapped sample, per Abdul who posted it. No comment from Nike. pic.twitter.com/3BEmJWhyO4
