Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) will be selling a limited edition of “Kaweco Sport” writing instruments designed by stationery concierge Kazuko Sakuma from December 5, 2025 (Friday). We also offer a set of pens, inks, and ballpoint pens featuring an illustration of an adorable Koutei penguin drawn by Kazuko Sakuma, making it a perfect gift. Please take this opportunity to pick it up.
The German-born “Kaweco Sport” writing instrument has been a popular model for a long time and has many fans, and is also used by Sakuma and other staff at Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore Stationery Floor. Since many customers appreciate the store-exclusive design writing instruments as souvenirs not only for collectors but also for their visit, we have planned this time together with “Kaweco Sport”.
Based on the compact octagonal pillar that fits in the palm of your hand, it is decorated with an illustration of a penguin that Sakuma likes and often draws, giving it an adorable finish. Among the penguins, the Koutei Penguin is also popular as a motif for the hand-drawn birthday card that Sakuma introduces every day on Instagram on the stationery floor of Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore, so I chose it for this design.
