On October 22, 2025, McLaren Automotive will set up a limited edition of 22 units of the “McLaren GTS” grand touring model “GTS Signature Collection”. It was announced that it would be introduced only in the Japan market.
According to the company, the McLaren Technology Center (MTC), home of McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing, is a unique building whose essence is “balance” and “harmony”.
The water from the lake adjacent to the building is also functional, such as using it for air conditioning in the office building and dissipating heat in the wind tunnel experimental facility, and the internal structure is also designed to maintain the independence of each business department while promoting cooperation. These are strong reflections of McLaren’s philosophy that “all designs have meaning and function”, and even now, more than 20 years after its completion, MTC is said to maintain its unchanging modernity.
This McLaren GTS Signature Collection is a limited edition car that reflects the philosophy of MTC’s architectural design and the four themes inspired by “harmony between science and nature”. Each theme features a number of bespoke designs by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), which pay homage to the MTC, from the body color to the unique interior.
Each of the four themed exteriors is deliberately understated, but the body colors developed for this limited edition model are available, each with a unique story related to the MTC. The color of the wheel, which is available in two colors, is also used for the first time in the GTS. The mirror housing is decorated with a delicate pattern with MTC motifs.
On the other hand, the interior is also deepened with MTC, and shapes extracted from building design are used throughout. The headrests are embroidered with the “MTC” logo, and the side silhouette of MTC is highlighted on the fascia plate on the passenger side dashboard by the backlight. In addition, the fascia plate on the door lining is designed by cutting out a part of the overhead view from MTC’s design drawings and sewn into it as a tonal stitch of the same color, making it a selling point that gives a sense of “McLaren’s home (philosophy)”.
The four coordination themes of the GTS Signature Collection are as follows. The mechanism related to driving performance is the same as that of the base model GTS.
Theme 1: Howthorn
The theme is inspired by the rich natural environment of MTC. The name comes from the hawthorn tree that grows in clusters around it, and it wears a deep green metallic “hawthorn”. Fitted with satin-finished GT Silver 10-spoke turbine forged alloy wheels and graphite grey brake calipers. The interior is made of almond white semi-aniline leather with a tonal contrast stitch.
Theme 2: Paragon
Inspired by the tiles on the MTC Boulevard. The “Paragon Black” paint is characterized by the shimmer of silver metallic flakes and is named after the project “Paragon” during the construction of MTC. It is also equipped with satin-finished GT silver turbine forged wheels and graphite gray calipers, which are similar to the metal structure of MTC architecture. The contrast between the exterior and the interior of the almond white semi-aniline leather evokes the contrast between light and shadow that envelops the MTC.
Theme 3: Rotunda
The theme is inspired by the long white corridor that spreads out on the basement floor of the building and the circular entrance (Rotonda) that leads to it. The “Rotonda White” paint is a solid off-white color that expresses a clean atmosphere. The dark palladium-finished turbine wheels and graphite gray calipers are inspired by the gray tiles inside the building. The tonal stitching on the Scoria Grey semi-aniline leather further highlights the symmetry and harmony between light and shadow.
Theme 4: Reflection
The theme was inspired by the scene where the lake, the symbol of MTC, is reflected in the glass façade of the building. The “Reflection Green” paint has a unique base that includes silver metallic flakes, recreating the reflection of sunlight on the surface of the water on the MTC’s glass architecture. To emphasize the contrast with the body color, the wheels have a dark palladium finish. The interior is made of Scoria gray semi-aniline leather seats with tonal stitching to pursue a high-quality feel.
All four specifications above will be equipped with the following items, which are a fusion of special design elements by MSO and carefully selected GTS equipment.
