A new model limited to 100 pieces in a full-fledged diver collection representing the brand, dressed in bicolor that symbolizes Switzerland and Japan. It is on sale at Oris Ginza boutiques and authorized retailers in Japan.
The pure white dial has a powerful red second hand. Switzerland and Japan – the two colors on the flags of the two countries resonate beautifully, as if they respect each other. Oris has released the first Japan-only model in the brand’s history.
Oris was born in Helstein, Switzerland in 1904. As one of the few independent brands in the Swiss watch industry with a rich history, it has continued to focus on mechanical watches and has established a firm position. From Oris, a new product “Aquis Japan Limited Edition” was born. Surprisingly, this is Oris’ first Japan-only model. Although it is a limited edition, it is a timepiece with a high degree of practicality that goes beyond the framework of a collection model.
The biggest feature is the coloring of the dial, which is simple yet leaves a strong impression. The white dial gives a sense of purity, with a bright red logo and seconds hand, giving it a solid presence in a minimalist appearance. This color scheme is a message from Oris that shows respect for Japan culture. Two countries with different climates and histories are united by the colors entrusted to their respective flags, and their feelings are sublimated into a single watch. It can be said that it is not just a strange color scheme, but also a work that bears fruit in the ideas and relationships behind it.
It is equipped with a Swiss-made movement and has a caseback specification reminiscent of the flag of Japan. In addition to the serial number, it is specially engraved with the words “JAPAN LIMITED EDITION”.
The base is Oris’ best-selling “Aquis” collection. Among them, it is based on the “Aquis Date Relief”, which is highly popular in Japan. As the theme of the collection is the importance of water, the waterproof performance is 300 meters. It has full-fledged specifications for a professional dive watch, such as a non-reverse rotation bezel and a screw-down crown with a crown guard.
In addition, it comes with a red rubber strap with a quick-change mechanism. Since it can be easily replaced without tools, it can be used in a wide range of styles, such as giving a calm impression in business situations and being used as a sporty accent in off-time.
The “Aquis Japan Limited Edition” was born from Oris as a limited model in Japan. This work, which combines the colors of Switzerland and Japan on its wrist, combines playfulness and practicality at a high level, and is a film that shows its true value in everyday life. Fans who have loved Oris for many years, as well as those who are new to the brand, will speak eloquently about its philosophy and appeal.
